The progress was reviewed at the latest meeting of the apex committee which discussed the issue threadbare and such figures disappointed both Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Corps Commander Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar who said the situation should have been much better than what was being presented before them.A report prepared by the Sindh Police and submitted to the home department shows that just 167 unregistered madressahs 139 in Hyderabad and 28 in Benazirabad. The report identified a total of 4,021 madressahs in Sindh. Of them, 2,598 were registered and 1,423 unregistered.No unregistered madressah sealed in Karachi

But the report mentioned that a list of unregistered madressahs was still being prepared by police.Officials said they had sealed 139 out of 286 unregistered madressahs in Hyderabad and 28 out of 61 in Benazirabad. No unregistered madressah sealed in Karachi None of over 1,200 unregistered madressahs elsewhere in Sindh, which included 559 unregistered madressahs only in Karachi West, have been touched so far.An official requesting anonymity told Dawn that the reluctance shown by the officials taking action against seminaries in Karachi and certain madressahs elsewhere in Sindh was because of the street power which a number of those seminaries manifested from time to time in the past and were considered to be the ‘reserve force’ for certain religious groups and parties. source by

These recipes are favourites of mine all year round but also happen to be items that can fit in perfectly on an Iftar table. So go ahead, why not try something different for Iftar today?

Date and Nut Bites

(makes about 20)               Craving healthy Iftar, Try these Date and Nut Bites and Baked Chicken Wings     .

Recently I have struggled with fatigue and low energy levels and I always need to keep snacks handy to keep my energy up. These nutty, sweet bites of goodness are loaded with good-for-you ingredients and I often keep a few in a small container in my bag for hunger emergencies.

However, they can also make a great addition to Sehri to maintain your energy level throughout the day, and can definitely be a fun alternative to simplekhajoor at Iftar.

Ingredients

1 cup dates

⅓ cup unsalted almonds

⅓ cup unsalted cashews

1 tablespoon peanut butter

1 tablespoon coconut oil

2 tablespoons ground flaxseed

1 tablespoon cocoa powder (optional)

Method

  1. Remove the pits from the dates.
  2. Add all ingredients to a food processor and process for one to two minutes, or until the mixture is well combined (the mixture will look grainy but it will come together when you start to shape it).
  3. Take one heaped tablespoon of the mixture in the palm of your hand and press it into a ball, or into the shape of a date.
  4. Store in a covered container in the refrigerator for upto two weeks.

A fresh, simple and healthy alternative to chana chaat, this salad is the easiest thing to make and one of my favourite things to eat. When you’re not fasting, this makes for a great lunch too, because, although it may look simple and sparse, it’s very filling. Remember that the lentils take a while to cook, so it’s best to soak them overnight.

Ingredients

½ cup green or black lentils, soaked in water overnight

2 potatoes (200-250g)

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon vinegar

1½ teaspoons mustard

salt and pepper, to taste

Method

  1. Cook the lentils in boiling water until tender. Drain and set aside to cool.
  2. Peel the potatoes and cut into medium chunks. Cook them in boiling water until tender; drain and set aside to cool.
  3. To make the dressing: In a small mixing bowl, add the olive oil, vinegar, mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix well. Add the chopped onions and mix.
  4. When the lentils and potatoes have cooled, add them to a mixing bowl. Add the dressing and mix well. Add more salt if necessary.
  5. Refrigerate until you are ready to serve.

Baked Chicken Wings

While I really do love Buffalo wings, my taste buds can’t tolerate spicy food. At restaurants I can barely finish one piece before my tongue starts to burn. By making them at home, I can control how hot the wings are by choosing a milder hot sauce.

Now Buffalo wings are traditionally fried but they turn out just as good if you bake them (so less guilt about eating your favorite appetizer!).

Baking also makes the cooking process shorter and simpler. For this recipe, you’d have to fry the wings in two or three batches, but if you bake them you can cook them all in one go. You can coat the wings with flour before baking to give them a crispy coating, or you can just bake them plain; they’re just as good either way. Because what really makes the wings special is the sauce you’ll slather over them after they’ve baked.

Ingredients

1 kg chicken wings

5-6 garlic cloves, crushed

2 tablespoons oil

½ cup flour (optional; see step 4)

1 tablespoon (15g) butter

¼ cup hot sauce

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking tray with foil and brush with oil.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, add the chicken wings, garlic, and oil. Mix well.
  4. If you are using flour, add the flour to large plastic bag. Add the chicken wings, seal the top of the bag, and shake well. (You can bake the wings without the flour coating as well. Just place the wings on the baking tray and proceed to the next step.)
  5. Shake the excess flour off the wings and place them on the baking tray.
  6. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the wings are golden brown and cooked through.
  7. In a small saucepan, or in the microwave, melt the butter.
  8. Stir the hot sauce into the butter, and pour this mixture over the wings.
  9. Toss gently to coat, and serve.

Tip: This recipe is for Buffalo wings, but you can swap out the hot sauce for ¼ cup to ½ cup of barbecue sauce or peri-peri sauce as well.

Namaz of Tarawih Tarawih is the twenty Rakat Namaz that is Sunnat-e-Maukida and is prayed in the month of Ramadan after the Farz Namaz of Isha every night.

  • Rule: It is Mustahhab to delay it until one third of the night has passed and if you wait until half the night has passed then there is no harm [Durr-e-Mukhtar, Bahar-e-Shariat].
  • Rule: After the Tarawih has finished the fifth Tarwih is also Mustahhab. If the fifth Tarwih is a burden on people then.
    • Rule: Those who prayed the Farz of Isha alone can pray the Tarawih with Jamaat but he must pray the Witr alone [Durr-e-Mukhtar, Radd-ul-Mohtar].
    • Rule: If you have prayed the Isha Farz with Jamaat and then prayed the Tarawih alone, he can join the Jamaat for Witr [Durr-e-Mukhtar, Radd-ul-Mohtar].
    • Rule: If you have some Rakats of Tarawih left and the Imam has stood up for Witr then it is better to pray the Witr with Jamaat as long as you have prayed Isha Farz with Jamaat and then you can pray the remaining Rakats of Tarawih. It is also allowed to complete your Rakats of Tarawih and then pray Witr alone [Alamgiri, Radd-ul-Mohtar].
    • Rule: If people have prayed the Tarawih and now they want to pray it again then they can pray it alone but it is not allowed to pray it with Jamaat again [Alamgiri]. If one Imam prays Tarawih in two mosques and if he prays the full Tarawih in both mosques then this is not allowed. If the Muqtadee prays the Tarawih in full in both mosques [hen there is no problem, however, he is not allowed to pray Witr again if he has already prayed in the first mosque.If the people say we will not give you anything or the Hafiz says I will not take anything and then the public decide to give the Hafiz a gift or some money as a gesture to thank him for his efforts then there .Namaz of Tarawih
